Fallen Hero

While I am not entirely a Manny Pacquiao fan (just because I do not fancy boxing), for me he has stood as a person I have come to admire for being able to rise from his humble beginnings to being one of the world's greatest boxer.

Just a couple of days ago I was talking about Integrity and how this shapes a person's character. Today our national hero in the world of boxing has fallen, his character has been tested and now he is being judged. It is true how money will put to the test a person's moral fibre, one way or the other if you let money rule you then this will not only rule your mind, but your heart and take over everything you have worked for. And I feel terrible about this lost, I thought he was different. Someone who could put his head firmly on his shoulders and his feet planted on the ground. Manny Pacquiao is the Filipino people's hope, a contemporary hero the whole nation is proud of. It is on the news today how a television network has promised Manny support in the forthcoming election. And this scares me, for how could these people endorse someone who turns his back on a live contract because of a bigger offer? Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! I hope this is a fight Manny can win, it will be one long haul but for the sake of his children, I hope this is something he is able to resurrect himself from...

And please if you are thinking of joining politics...for the sake of our country DON'T because corruption will eat your soul not to mention the high number of vultures waiting for you out there!

Hi Enid,

I just feel sad for Pacquiao. Marami kasing nakapaligid sa kanya na nakakapag kumplikado ng mga decisions nya. I just hope they're true friends and supporters of him na kahit out na siya sa boxing career eh hindi siya iiwan.

Happy Easter!
